The Mystery of the “For More Information, Text _ to _” Sign

You know that feeling when you see something totally bizarre and just have to figure it out? Well, I was walking to the local variety store and kept seeing this weird sign in front of a house. It looked like a “For Sale” sign, but instead of saying “For Sale,” it just said “For More Information, Text _ to _.” Like, what?! Was the house for sale or not? And why wouldn’t they just say “For Sale”?

I was so curious that I kept thinking about it for weeks. Finally, I decided to take action. I looked up the address and found out that the house had just been sold!

Now, you might think this proves that people will figure things out, right? Wrong! This actually shows that you should never make it hard for people to understand what’s going on. Always state the obvious! Why?

Confused Minds Say No

When people are confused, they usually just say no or walk away. They don’t want to spend time trying to figure things out. It’s like trying to put together a puzzle with missing pieces. You might get frustrated and give up!

People are also afraid of asking questions that might make them look silly. They don’t want to be the one who doesn’t get it. So, they just keep quiet and move on. It’s like being in class and being too scared to ask a question, even though you’re totally confused.

When people are trying to figure out the basics, they can’t focus on the bigger picture. They’re stuck on things like “Is this a book?” or “Does this cost money?” They’re not even thinking about buying or signing up. It’s like trying to read a book with a missing page. You can’t really get into the story!

So, the next time you’re trying to sell something, remember to keep it simple and straightforward. Don’t make people guess what you’re trying to say. Just be clear and concise. You’ll be surprised at how much easier it is to get people to buy or sign up!
